Au10tix + User Verification

Au10tix is the third-party service used by The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) to verify the identities of our users.  

To protect The MLC users from fraudulent activity, we verify all information provided by potential users at sign-up before granting account access by running it through a "Know Your Customer (KYC)" check, which is required by the USA Patriot Act.

In line with the USA Patriot Act, the type of government issued identification used, number and expiration date must be recorded and may be used to further verify the customer's identity using third-party sources. In addition, our representatives will make and retain a copy of this primary identification. 

• Use a mobile device whenever possible. Verification can fail due to low-quality images from desktop or laptop webcams.
• Double-check your information. Ensure the personal information you enter (such as your address) matches your identification documents exactly. Even small differences can result in rejection.
• Confirm the ID type. Check the 'Acceptable documents' section on the verification screen to make sure you are submitting a valid and accepted form of government-issued identification.

If you've received a notification that verifying your identity is required and you are unable to verify your identity, your account will be placed on hold until your identity can be verified. Please note that royalties will not be issued while your account is on hold. 

Please note that deliberately uploading falsified documents is a crime and violators will be permanently suspended. The MLC may report to the authorities users who attempt to send forged or falsified documents. 

If your verification fails you will be prompted to try again. Please note that The MLC Support team cannot manually verify or override a failed verification if Au10tix is unable to verify your identity.
