Now that your banking and tax information is setup, you are ready to begin adding works (songs) to your Member's catalog!
1 | The Claiming Tool
The Claiming Tool helps users to easily search for works already registered in The MLC's Public Database and to find unclaimed shares on those works that they need to claim.
- Once you are in the Claiming Tool, you can search for work(s) using the search criteria fields at the top.
- You can utilize the dropdowns to change the specific criteria you would like to search by, and you can enter up to give (5) search criteria to locate works.
- After locating the work you would like to claim shares on, you can click View to see all the work details. From there, you can click Edit in the top right-hand corner of your screen to add writer(s), publisher(s), shares, and recordings. Once finished, click Submit at the bottom of the page for your registration to be processed.

2 | Registering Individual Works
If you find that your work(s) does not already exist in The MLC's Public Database after utilizing the Claiming Tool, then you will need to register your works.
If you want to register only a few works in The MLC Portal, it's easiest to do it individually.
First select Register Individual Work, then click the Create Work button at the bottom of the page. You will be given the option of using a step-by-step wizard to help or you can skip the wizard and fill out the form directly.

3 | Registering Bulk Works
If you have a Publisher IPI and want to register a larger amount of works, you can utilize the Bulk Works template.
- To locate the template in the Portal, select your Member account, then click Register Bulk Works from the left-hand menu under Catalog.
- To download the template, click the blue Download template button on the right.
Please note: When including works on your Bulk Work Registration template, you must include The MLC Song Code if the work already exists within The MLC's Public Database to ensure that a duplicate is not created.
