How do I open my statement .TSV file in Excel or Google Sheets?

Please note: To access a statement in The MLC Portal, you will need appropriate user permissions with your Member.

After selecting your preferred statement format and file type in The MLC Portal, your statement will be emailed to you. This email will include a link that opens up a .TSV file. Click the link, and it should download to your desktop. 

If you need to open your .TSV file in a specific program, select the program below.

Opening .TSV file in Excel:
  1. Click the link that was emailed to you to download the statement to your computer.
  2. Open a new blank workbook in Excel.
  3. Locate your statement file in Finder or File Explorer (it will most likely be in the "Downloads" folder).
  4. Drag the file into Excel. The data should then populate in Excel.

Opening the .TSV file in Google Sheets:
  1. Open a blank spreadsheet in Google Sheets.
  2. Click File, then Import.
  3. Navigate to the "Upload" tab.
  4. Click Select a file from your device.
  5. Locate, then click to highlight the .TSV file in your Downloads folder. Click Open.
  6. Confirm that:
    • The Import location is "Replace spreadsheet"
    • The Separator type is "Detect automatically"
    • The box that says "Convert text to numbers, dates, and formulas" is checked.
  7. Click Import data.
