To find publisher information for a song, you can search the records of performance rights organizations (PROs). In the U.S., those PROs include: ASCAP, BMI, GMR and SESAC. You will need to search the song catalogs of the PROs’ websites to find which one represents the song you are looking for – once you find the song, the publisher information will be included.
You can also find publisher information by searching their IPI number. To find the publisher’s IPI number, you will need to search the repertory of their PRO’s website or contact the PRO directly.
