How to use the Matching Tool in the Songwriter Hub
The Matching Tool allows you to suggest matches between sound recordings and works in your catalog, helping ensure that you'll collect the royalties you're owed for your works.
While The MLC uses an automated matching process to match as many sound recordings to works as possible, the most reliable way to ensure recordings are properly matched to your works is to use the Matching Tool.
To start looking for recordings that may need to be matched to works in your catalog, follow the steps below.
- Search for a title or ISRC to find recordings.
- Click the blue drop-down arrow on the far right to show applicable recordings within the recording group. You can also view recording details by clicking 'View' under the 'Details' column.
- In the 'Selected' column, select any recording groups you'd like to match to a work in your catalog.
- Click the blue 'Match' button and 'Continue' to move forward.
- On the next page you will need to enter two criteria fields to search for your work title.
- Once you've determined the correct work, click 'Select' then 'Confirm'.
Note: If your suggested match is approved it may take up to 3 months for the matched recordings to appear on the work in your catalog.
